St Luke’s Mission Hospital is a catholic, faith Based Organisation under the archdiocese of Lusaka with the managing agents being the Sisters of Mercy of St Charles Borromeo.
The Ministry of Health supports the Hospital with Human Resource. It is a First Level Hospital with a bed capacity of 115 providing primary health care services. Despite being a First level, the Hospital provides some specialised services like Gynaecological and Obstetrics. The Hospital also provides palliative care services to clients with chronic conditions

Living in Mpansyha
St Luke’s Mission Hospital lies adjacent to the Great East Road which serves as Zambia’s principal arterial route to Malawi, Mozambique and other Eastern African states. Mpanshya has a population of approximately 5,500 inhabitants and is the largest settlement in Rufunsa district which has a total of with 45,000 inhabitants. It is situated in Rufunsa District.
We have accommodation St. Augustine facilities that are attached to the Hospital and others that are lodges but near the hospital. Below are the charges
- Augustine (K 150.00 per night)
- Ostrich lodge (K 350.00 – K500.00 per night)
- Manenekela lodge (K 350.00 per night)
All are without breakfast for it is upon request from your lodge of choice. But the meals at St Augustine are as follows and also upon request.
- Breakfast (K35.00 per person)
- Tea break (K30.00 per Person)
- Lunch (K80.00 per plate)
- Diner the same as lunch
- Drinks and beverages are according to the market price.

The Hospital has 5 resident doctors and one surgeon, the five are general practitioner, they are responsible for both out patient - Accommodation K 100.00 per day
The rooms are self-contained, provided with a bed, beddings and Mosquito net. This money is to be paid to St. Augustine Training Centre where accommodation is provided and the account details are as provided.

There is also lady whom the students can negotiate with so that she helps in the cooking, cleaning and laundry. - Transport
The Hospital will provide the transport from the airport to the Mission Hospital which is about 200km from the airport on the day one arrives and on the day one will be going back to their respective countries.
