St. Luke’s Mission Hospital in Mpanshya is well-staffed and equipped with 115 inpatient beds. The hospital has the following in-patient services offered surgery, gynecology-obstetric, intern medicine, paediatric. There are 64 members of staff that including 1 surgeon and 4 general doctors. It is the only hospital in the District of Rufunsa and has the population cover of 113,470 with 28 clinics and health centres. The Hospital is a catholic Mission Hospital under the Arch Diocese of Lusaka. Its serves the community and holds no distinction of race, tribe, gender or religion when treating patients. With the support from the government assistance and a lot of love, dedication, hard work and God’s help, the Mission continues to grow every year

St. Luke’s lies adjacent to the Great East Road which serves as Zambia’s principal arterial route to Malawi, Mozambique and other Eastern African states. It was was created in 1964, the Borromeo Sisters took over the Mission Hospital in 1978.
Being the only hospital in the district of Rufunsa, our core Hospital function has developed a holistic community health function through the introduction of a School of Nursing, a Midwifery Training Centre, a Nutrition Centre, a preschool and Hospices for People living with HIV/AIDS and cancer patients.

On the 11th of October 2024 our Hospital celebrated 60th Anniversary
In the centre of our celebration was Holy Mass with the Vicar General Fr Simpasa as a main celebrant. All united in thanksgiving for all the past and current hospital personnel, the patients and benefactors. 60 years St. Lukes Mission Hospital Mpanshya
We will be celebrating 60 years of the existence of our Hospital on the 11ht October 2024. We invite all who have passed through Mpanshya to celebrate with us. We want to thank you for all your contributions and for all the support that you have given us throughout the years. All support and contributions of monetary or medical equipment for the improvement of our institution are welcome.
New ICU/ HDU
St. Lukes Mission Hospital Mpanshya is building an intensive care unit (ICU) / high-dependency-unit (HDU) care with the help of Afriqua Foundation. We are yet to receive medical equipments for the some department. Every contribution is welcome.
Orthopedic doctors from Poland
Four orthopedic doctors from Poland visited two hospitals, St. Luke’s – Mpanshya and Katondwe Mission Hospital, for a week in November 2023. The team, led by Dr. Bartek Osadnik, included Dr. Adam Fraciszek Cymbalak, Dr. Szymon Henryk Pietrzak, and Dr. Lukasz Da Wid Wiktor. During their visit, they performed surgeries and provided medical assistance to the patients at both hospitals.
